Whilst art has been a lifelong interest for me, I originally graduated as a Geologist and spent several decades working in the Australian Petroleum Industry. This background is very evident in much of my art which explores buried narratives, layered stories and often shows natural rock textures.
With the completion of my degree in Visual Art at ECU in Perth, I closed the door on my geology career, moving to the Ferguson Valley in Western Australia to practice art fulltime.
I combine a variety of media, printmaking techniques and textured imagery to convey the concept of hidden histories embedded within layered landscapes. The imprint of human habitation on ancient landscapes along with the passage of time is also an important aspect in my work.
